 
Dana Suntag practices in all areas of business
litigation and dispute resolution. He handles matters in
areas such as labor and employment, general business, real estate,
construction, contract disputes, environmental law, and creditors'
rights. He represents both large multi-national companies and local
San Joaquin area concerns.
Mr. Suntag received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Fairleigh Dickinson
University in Teaneck, New Jersey. He then attended law school at
Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California,
and received his law degree in 1986, graduating cum laude.
At law school, Mr. Suntag was an Editor and on the Executive Board
of the Southwestern University Law Review. He also was a recipient
of the prestigious Thomas Bradley Scholarship.
Mr. Suntag worked as a law clerk for the United States Ninth Circuit
Court of Appeals in Los Angeles.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Suntag practiced in Los Angeles
for nine years with a national law firm. His practice there focused
on large and complex lawsuits, representing clients in all areas of
business, employment, and commercial litigation. In 1995, Mr. Suntag
moved to Northern California to join the Stockton office of the San
Francisco law firm Feldman, Waldman & Kline. In 1998, he and his
partners formed Shaver, Suntag & Feuerstein, which became Suntag
& Feuerstein in November 1999.
Mr. Suntag was the author of the appellate brief in the notable case
Crockford's Club Ltd. v. Si-Ahmed, 203 Cal.App.3d 1402 (1988), in
which he argued successfully, on behalf of a London casino, for the
overturning of longstanding California law on the enforceability of
gambling debts. He also has authored various legal articles, which
have appeared in legal and business publications. Those articles include "State Enacts Law to Curb Worker Violence," The Business
Journal (July 1996); "Public Policy Factors Don't Bar Enforcement
of All Gambling Debts," Los Angeles Daily Journal (April 11,
1994); "Depositions in Japan Can be Tricky," Los Angeles
Daily Journal (May 29, 1990); and Note: "Reed v. Commissioner:
The Validity of Tax Deferral Through The Use of a Bona Fide, Arms
Length Agreement," 15 Southwestern Univ. L. Rev. 615 (1985).
Mr. Suntag has long been involved in local community organizations. He was a member of the Stockton Arts Commissionfor 10 years,
a founding board member of First Night Stockton, a member of the City
of Stockton Public Art Task force, and a member of the Stockton Image
Commission. Mr. Suntag also is a member of the San Joaquin County
Bar Association.

Abram S. Feuerstein practices business litigation, bankruptcy and
creditor's rights, and estate planning. He has been involved in representing
corporations and individuals in federal and state courts in such matters
as lender's liability cases, partnership dissolutions, contract and
real estate disputes, and all areas of bankruptcy practice. He regularly
represents Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 trustees and debtors and creditors
and participates in creditor committee work in both the Eastern and
Northern Districts of California.
Mr. Feuerstein was born in Brooklyn, New York. He received his Bachelors
of Arts degree from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and
received his Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of
Law in Boston, Massachusetts. At Boston University, Mr. Feuerstein
was a Paul J. Liacos Scholar, and received the Sylvia Beinecke Robinson
Commencement Award. He was also an editor of the Probate Law Journal.
Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Feuerstein was an associate lawyer
with the San Francisco-based national law firms of Thelen, Marrin,
Johnson & Bridges and Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe, where
he specialized in business litigation and bankruptcy. He became a
partner of Feldman, Waldman & Kline in San Francisco, California
in 1995. In 1998, he formed Shaver, Suntag & Feuerstein, which
became Suntag & Feuerstein in November 1999.
Mr. Feuerstein is a member of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section,
Bar Association of San Francisco, and the Central Valley Bankruptcy
Forum. He is also a member of the Stockton Estate Planning Council.
He has participated in recent development programs in the area of
bankruptcy law for the Continuing Education of the Bar.

Martha Jeanne Shaver practices general business law. Her practice
includes real estate transactions, secured lending, general business,
and estate planning.
Ms. Shaver received her Juris Doctor degree from Boalt Hall School
of Law, University of California, Berkeley, in 1983. From 1983 until
1998, she practiced in Stockton with the San Francisco-based law firm
Feldman, Waldman & Kline.
In 1995, Ms. Shaver was named a Susan B. Anthony Woman of Achievement
by the San Joaquin County Commission on the Status of Women. In March
1998, Ms. Shaver was named a Small Business Advocate of the year by
the California State Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Shaver has been active in numerous community organizations, including
past president of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce, chairman
of the board of directors of San Joaquin Regional Transit District,
past president of the board of directors of the Women's Center of
San Joaquin County, ex officio member of the San Joaquin Council of
Governments (COG), vice chairman of the Health Commission of San Joaquin
County, and past president of the League of Women Voters of San Joaquin
County.
Ms. Shaver also has a Masters Degree in Public Health, which she received
from the School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley.

Gerald A. Sherwin has practiced in numerous areas of the law since
admission to the California State Bar in January, 1963, including
municipal law, business litigation, water law and real estate. He
is an experienced trial lawyer, and has served as a pro tem judge
of the Superior Court and as a mediator in resolving business disputes.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Economics
from the University of Wisconsin in 1959 and his Juris Doctor degree
from Boalt Hall at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1962.
while at Boalt Hall he was a member of the Moot Court Board and won
a national award for a paper on copyright law.
Mr. Sherwin has authored articles for the American Bar Association
and the National District Attorneys Association. He was the Assistant
City Attorney for the City of Stockton, California, and served as
County Counsel of San Joaquin County, California, for 11 years.
In 1966 he was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme
Court. He has briefed and argued appeals
before federal and state appellate courts, including the California
Supreme Court.
Mr. Sherwin served as an officer of the Board of Governors of the
San Joaquin County Bar Association and for years was active in the
Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association. He has taught courses on Wills, Civil
Procedure, and Eminent Domain Law at Humphreys College of Law.
Mr. Sherwin also is a Certified Financial Planner.

John M. Reece is Of Counsel to Suntag & Feuerstein. He has been practicing family law, business, and personal injury law for over 40 years. He also is an experienced trial lawyer.
Mr Reece was born in Shelbyville, Indiana, and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He received his law degree from Standford University Law School in 1963, and was admitted to California Bar that same year.
Before Joining Suntag & Feuerstein in March 2002, Mr. Reece had a general business litigation and family law practice in Stockton for many years. |
